Assessment
Once we confirm your insurance coverage for ABA services, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will guide you and your child through a comprehensive assessment process. This multi-step evaluation helps us develop a therapy plan tailored to your child's unique needs. The assessment begins with a parent interview, where we discuss your child's developmental history, health background, strengths, and areas of concern. This conversation helps shape the goals of therapy. In some cases, the BCBA may use a structured, standardized assessment tool, such as the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, to gain further insight. Next, the BCBA will observe and interact with your child in a natural, play-based setting. By following your child’s lead and engaging in meaningful activities, we gather valuable information about their communication, social skills, behavior patterns, and learning style. Using the information from the parent interview, direct observations, and assessment results, you and the BCBA will work together to determine the key focus areas for your child’s customized treatment plan. This ensures therapy targets the skills that will make the biggest impact on your child’s development and daily life.
